Why use in house cat sitting instead of
boarding?
Questions from the cat
side:
1. Does your cat get stressed in the car on the way
to the vet or boarding
facility?
2. Once there does your cat get even more stressed
with all the unfamiliar
smells and sounds, such as dogs barking, having
access to seeing unfamilar cats, sterile environment?
3. Does your cat like to relax, stretch, and play
with loads of room?
Questions from the owners
side:
1. Do you get stressed dropping your cat off for
boarding wondering what kind of
attention
and care will be given?
2. Do you get stressed trying to make sure you have
everything your cat will need
for
boarding and arranging your schedule to meet the
boarding business hours for pick up
or
drop off?
3. Do you worry about how empty your home will look
while you are away, mail
collection,
water plants, etc?
4. What happens when the friend or relative that is
watching your pet has something come up at the last
minute?
If you answered yes to any of these questions then
you might benefit by having an in-home cat sitter.

WHO ARE WE AND WHAT ARE OUR QUALIFICATIONS?
Hello, my name is Maria Brinson (Owner)
![]()
What experience do I have with cats?
1. My experience comes from personal, medical and home
care backgrounds. I've been a cat sitter and veterinarian
technician since 2000.
2. My medical background consists of being a veterinarian
technician at Cheshire Cat Clinic in Pacific Beach for 2 1/2 years.
I still do some relief vet tech work there when needed. I also have
completed the Red Cross Certification at the San Diego Humane
Society for emergency first aid and CPR for cats and
dogs
3. I have worked
as a veterinarian technician at the Animal Dermatology Clinic
in San Diego for almost 2 1/2 years as a vet tech. When needed I
fill in doing reference work.
4. I am familiar
with medicating, injections and giving fluids, as well as being
on the watch out for any medical problems that may
arise.
5. I understand
how lonely cats can get with their owners away and provide
loving
attention and care.
6. I also understand that some cats are a bit aloof or shy
around strangers and just like the "presence" of another person to
sit with them.
7. My bird/parrot
experience is having been a volunteer at Project Wildlife in the
care center and the Oasis foundation in Arizona. Oasis is a
retirement home for abused or abandoned parrots. Then there are my
own parrots which have taught me a lot. I also stay up to date by
attending monthly classes held by the Parrot Education and Adoption
Center (PEAC)
